A lot is fixed on the iPhone with the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 release

Apple has released detailed information on their upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 update.

This update is not going to be free for the owners of iPod Touch. They would be required to pay $9.95 just like last time when Apple charged the same fee for the owners of iPod Touch first generation to upgrade to the second generation software.

A lot of new features are going to be added to both iPhone and iPod Touch with this new update.

Some of the features include:

Devices would support peer to peer connectivity through Bluetooth for gaming and data exchange.

Paid applications would have the ability to charge extra from within the application for extra content.

Applications can access Google Maps for internal functionality.

Applications get access to third party hardware attachments.

Push connectivity arrives though applications would still not run in the background.

Developers gets the ability to support streaming audio and video in their applications.

Cut, Copy, Paste arrives. It support both text and images.

Users get the ability to forward messages. MMS support has also been added.

Apple has also added support for A2DP stereo Bluetooth.

Apple iPod Touch 2G would get Bluetooth support. It has always been there but now it would be activated.

Spotlight feature has been added for universal search on the devices!

Apple iPhone would support tethering but carriers would get the choice to offer it or not.

Mail, SMS and Notes feature gets landscape view for data entry.
