Google Voice is the new updated GrandCentral

Google has announced their latest service launch named Google Voice.

This is technically an updated edition of GrandCentral which they acquired in 2007.

GrandCentral had not been updated in a long time and users were afraid that the search engine giant might discard it just like some other services which were not profitable for the company.

Google has now announced that Google Voice service would be available initially to existing users of GrandCentral.

The service enables the user to have a single number to connect to their home, work, and mobile phones. They also get the ability to have a central voicemail inbox which is accessible on the web.
