Conficker comes back in a new variant
Security software maker Symantec has reported that the Conficker/Downadup worm has made a comeback with a brand new variant.
The report from the Symantec said that this new version will identify antivirus software or security analysis tools running on the infected PC. The worm would then try to shut down these programs.
The new variant also is capable of checking as many as 50,000 domains for updates. The previous versions had this set at 250.
Symantec has named this latest variant W32.Downadup.C.
