Free account users can now upload videos on Flickr
If you are using a free account on Flickr, the service is now letting you upload videos as well.
This facility was available to paying members only.
Flickr seems to be trying to become a possible alternative to YouTube.
However, the company is still limiting videos to just 90 seconds.
A Flickr representative said: “We are continuing to evolve the video experience to make it more compelling, accessible and easy to use. So grab your cameras, and capture and share ‘long photos’ of your own!”
Long Photos is how Flickr calls the videos hosted on their services.
We are however still waiting for Flickr to provide a way for paying members to download all their stuff for backup easily.
HD video uploads are supported now. However, only pro account users get the ability to view high quality versions of their videos after uploading on the service.
