AIM to get a paid version on Apple App Store

AOL has announced that they are going to launch a paid version of AIM for the Apple iPhone.

They have renamed the mobile application AIM for iPhone as AIM free.

It is now supported with online advertising.

The paid version is currently undergoing approval by Apple and should be out pretty soon.

AOL has added some new features to this updated version of AIM for the iPhone.

It is now location aware and also has SMS functionalities.

Users can now stay logged in to their AOL accounts even when the application is not on. They get new message notifications through SMS.
