Opera Software set to launch Opera Turbo service for faster content delivery

Opera Software is the company behind the Opera web browser that is available on desktops and mobile devices along with other platforms including Nintendo Wii.

The company has announced that they would be launching their new service Opera Turbo at the Mobile World Conference next week.

Opera Turbo is a technology designed to speed up the delivery of web pages to the customers.

It would enable service providers to compress the data on their servers and deliver the data to the end user.

It uses server-side optimization tool to reduce the amount of data a user is required to download on his mobile device or even desktops.

Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive of Opera Software spoke about Opera Turbo: “We are living in a time and place where access to the Web should be a universal right to all. Technology has advanced us to the point that we can very nearly access the Internet anytime and anywhere from a growing number of devices. As part of Opera’s commitment to provide the best experience on any device, Opera has developed the Opera Turbo solution. The Mobile World Congress serves as a forum for us to educate others on the wonders of Web technology.”

The company claims that the technology can cut data requirements by up to 80 percent on mobile devices. It comes to around 71 percent on a laptop.
