11% of online Americans update status online!
Pew Internet and American Life Project has claimed in a research paper that almost 11% of online Americans are now updating their statuses online using services like Twitter.
This number has doubled since May last year.
The report further claims that the median age of a user of micro-blogging service Twitter is 31 years old.
This age is 27 for MySpace users and 26 for Facebook users. LinkedIn has a relatively older user base with 40.
The report also added that the craze for this social feature drops off with the advancement in age.
Pew report also stated that almost 13 percent of online Americans have a personal blog.
