Slate.fr launched
A group of journalists have launched the French edition of Slate online magazine.
The project is headed by former Le Monde editor Jean-Marie Colombani.
The first story of this online magazine was on: “Europe flinches in the crisis”.
The magazine said about its goal: “We will analyse and comment news events with a rigorous, relevant, ironic and at times provocative tone, which has been the signature and the success of Slate.com in the United States.”
The service currently has a staff of eight. They aim to expand their base to around 40 writers in the coming months.
Slate.com owns a 15 percent stake in this French language edition.
