Shortcovers would turn smartphones into ebook readers

Shortcovers is a new mobile application that is being developed for several mobile platforms.

This application would enable the users of these smartphones to access ebooks from their devices.

Basically, mobile phones would be able to perform like ebook readers a platform much in news due to the launch of Amazon Kindle 2.

The developers are aiming to bring it to the Apple App Store by the end of the month.

Shortcovers User Experience Director Pamela Hilborn spoke about the reading habits of today: “People aren’t reading less, they are reading differently. Their attention spans are shorter.”

They are planning to offer best selling books at 99 cents a chapter. This would enable the user to check out the book before paying for it completely.
