Anti-Spam measures proving to be effective on the net
Surveys have suggested that despite the fact that internet spammers have gone aggressive in the recent days. However, the good news is that the anti-spam measures taken by ISPs and software developers have done a good jobs and controlling spam is easier than ever before. A study has been released by the US Federal Trade Commission, which claims that spammers continue to scrape e-mail addresses from the Web using automated programs.
Their studies revealed that as many as 96 per cent of the spam messages were successfully blocked by the two Web-based e-mail providers used by the FTC in its test. They did not reveal the parties they tested. However, consumers still require ISPs to work hard on their anti-spamming techniques to prevent the onslaught of spam messages in their inboxes.
FTC also recommended the web users to avoid giving out their email addresses in original format while using them on the internet. However, blogs, chatrooms are somewhat safe for transfer of email addresses. Software too have become pretty smart in the recent times with most of them offering intelligent anti-spam filters which manages to keep most of the spam outside the mailboxes of users.
