Google Gmail gets ‘Move to’ feature for labeling and archiving

Google Gmail was a revolutionary product when it was launched.

It still remains one of the few services that uses labels (tags) instead of folders.

However, most web users are more used to folders to manage their email.

Google has recognized that finally but they are not really adding folders option to Gmail

Instead, the company has now added a Move To option to email messages.

The purpose of this option is to enable the user to move the active message to a label.

This is similar to how moving to folders work on rival webmail services.

It saves the hassle of first labeling the email and then archiving it to hide it from the Inbox.

In the end, user gets a feeling of using folders on Gmail as the email is ‘moved’ to a particular label.
