Apple iWork ‘09 on torrents contain OSX.Trojan.iServices.A Trojan Horse

Security applications maker Intego has stated that pirated versions of Apple iWork available on torrent networks and other sites are being offered with a Trojan Horse.

These installers comes included with OSX.Trojan.iServices.A Trojan Horse.

They are labeling this malware serious.

Intego states that these copies are fully functional but they also install an additional package called iWorkServices.pkg.

The report adds: “The malicious software connects to a remote server over the Internet; this means that a malicious user will be alerted that this Trojan horse is installed on different Macs, and will have the ability to connect to them and perform various actions remotely. The Trojan horse may also download additional components to an infected Mac.”

Apple is offering the boxed installer of iWork 09 without any need to put in a serial number. This makes it very easy for Mac OS X users to pirate the application.
