Search engine giant Google has launched their new application for the Mac OS X.

This new product is Quick Search Box which is designed to act as a universal launcher and search application.

Google Quick Search Box is currently in experimental stage and they are looking for testers and contributors.

Google has made available this project on the Google Code service which enables anyone to see and edit the source of the application.

The developers have this to say about this new application:

This app is very experimental, but through it you will be able to see many of the areas we are exploring: contextual search, actions, and extensibility. It is by no means feature-complete, but is a very good indication of things to come.
