Skype now on Google Android platform!
Skype is now collaborating with Google to bring their VoIP platform on the Google Android mobile platform.
The company has announced that they are going to provide a version of Skype that would work on about 100 cell-phone models.
These would include the mobile devices powered by Google Android mobile platform like the T-Mobile G1.
Skype Chief Operating Officer Scott Durchslag spoke about how mobile service providers are now favoring Skype: “The operators thought in the past we were something just shy of Satan. Now we have carriers coming to us.”
Skype was disliked by mobile service providers because it enabled the users to make cheap calls using the internet connectivity. This bypassed the need to pay high prices of cellular connectivity.
Skype announced their Skype Lite application that would now work on Java enabled devices in addition to Windows Mobile operating system.
