Mac OS X market share increasing

Apple might not be challenging Microsoft yet but the market share of their operating system Mac OS X is increasing.

Market research firm Net Application has reported that the market share for Mac OS X rose nearly 10 percent last month.

The report said that this OS from Apple had a market share of 9.63 percent in the month of December.

This improved from 8.9 percent market share in the month of November.

Apple had a smashing holiday season last year which helped it increase its presence in the market.

Microsoft Windows had a market share of 88.68 percent in the month of December. Linux had just around .85 percent of the market in December.
