Microsoft SQL Server has a critical bug
Microsoft continues to reveal more bad information for system administrators around the world.
Just days after the software giant made available a critical update for their Internet Explorer web browser, they are now talking about a critical bug in SQL Server application.
Microsoft said in a security advisory that this bug affects systems running versions of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005.
The company said that they have not yet seen the bug being used to target web users in the wild but it still is bad news.
Microsoft added that users of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine or SQL Server 2005 Express could also become targets of these attacks.
The company however had some good news: “Systems with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack 4, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 are not affected by this issue.”
