Palm “Nova” OS already in wild as per the company
Palm chief executive Ed Colligan has stated that their upcoming mobile operating platform Nova is already in the wild.
This means that mobile service providers and developers already are playing with devices loaded with this new OS.
He added that the company is betting on this platform to help them become a major player in the market once again.
Colligan stated in his statement: “Our first next generation phone is set for launch in the first half of calendar year 2009 as planned. It’s early in this space, and there’s an enormous amount of opportunity left”.
He added: “There are existing developers that we’ve briefed; we want to make sure that we have a robust set of applications as we launch the product, but we haven’t made it a broad-based thing at this time.”
Palm has said that they would continue to develop and market devices powered by competing Windows Mobile platform.
