Norton Internet Security for Mac 4 released

Symantec has announced the release of their Norton Internet Security for Mac 4 application package.

This internet suite is aimed at Apple Mac users and comes loaded with a variety of security applications.

Norton said that they have loaded this package with an antivirus, antispyware and other tools related to combating spyware and identity theft.

Apple Macs are generally safe from viruses and worms but it is still a necessity for some users who want to have that extra level of safety.

Mike Romo, Symantec’s Mac product manager said in a statement: “You read so much about Windows threats and not so much about the Mac. Our goal is to provide a tool to cover all the bases without scaring people.”

The company said that as more businesses start adopting the Apple Mac platform, demand for these products would rise.

Symantec is also offering Norton Internet Security for Mac Dual Protection. This is for the users of Boot Camp or Virtualization platforms. These enable a Mac owner to run Mac OS X along with Windows operating system on a single machine.
