Mozilla developers have added multi-touch support in the latest beta of Firefox 3.1 web browser.

This support is only for the Mac edition considering the recently launched MacBooks have this facility.

Firefox 3.1 beta 2 also has some other useful feature additions including Private Browsing Mode, improved web page rendering and improved support for newer web technologies.

Mozilla has also added a brand new JavaScript engine which they claim would speed up the performance on web 2.0 web sites.

The multi-touch commands available in this beta edition include:

Swipe Left: Go back to previous page
Swipe Right: Go forward to next page
Swipe Up: Go to the top of the page
Swipe Down: Go to the end of the page
Pinch Together: Zooming out
Pinch Apart: Zooming in
Twist Right: Go to next tab
Twist Left: Go to previous tab
