Research: 98% of Windows machines are unpatched

Secunia has reported that as per their research, almost every PC is running at least one unpatched application.

The company used the information collected from over 20,000 computer users who use their Personal Software Inspector tool.

Secunia found out that 98% of the users had at least one unpatched application on their machines.

It said in its report: “Has the world improved since the last look at the numbers? The short answer is no. Nearly every PC continues to run with several insecure programs. If anything, these numbers are worse than (11 months ago) when we generated them initially.”

The research report further said that as many as 50 per cent of PCs have 11 or more unsecured programs running on their computers.
