Apple App Store now support promo codes
Apple has added a new feature on their App Store.
Developers can now issue promo codes to certain users who can download paid applications for free.
This is useful if the developer wants to give away free copies of his application to a particular user.
Until now, the developer could only build a special version of their application which could be distributed to other users through a cumbersome process.
The new method would allow the user to download the application directly from the Apple App Store without making a payment if he has a promo code.
Apple has however put certain limitations on this new feature. The developer can only give away up to 50 promotional codes per application version. And these can only be used on the US version of the Apple App Store.
