Songbird 1.0 is out
The developers behind the open source music application Songbird have released the first stable edition.
Songbird 1.0 is now available for download. Free.
The developers said in a blog post:
We set out to build an open, customizable music player. Today, we’re launching with dozens of integrated services, hundreds of add-ons, and a growing developer community. We’ll be the first to admit that there’s plenty left to do.
New features in the release:
Songbird now uses GStreamer as its main media playback system.
They have included an improved mashTape.
Album Art Support has also been enhanced.
The installer for Linux has been made better so that users do not have to hunt for dependencies.
