Six Apart acquires Pownce. Closing it down!

Six Apart has acquired the micro-blogging service Pownce.

The sad news is that they are closing down this service later this month.

Users of Pownce have the option to export all their messages in case they want to preserve them.

The service would not be accessible after December 15.

Six Apart seems to be interested in integrating Pownce technology in their other services like Vox and TypePad.
