W32/FakeSecSen one of the targets of latest Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool

Microsoft delivers an updated Malicious Software Removal Tool with every Patch Tuesday release.

This tool scans the computer for different kind of malware and removes them.

One of the major targets in the recent update was a malware named W32/FakeSecSen.

W32/FakeSecSen is present in several malware tools which are generally designed as antivirus software.

Some of the popular names include “Advanced Antivirus,” “Spyware Preventer,” “Ultimate Antivirus 2008″ and “XPert Antivirus.”

Web users are tempted by the authors of these malware program to install a free antivirus application which in reality is the malware itself.

Microsoft said that during the first week period of its availability, the tool removed the malware from more than 994,000 machines.
