Microsoft wants Vista Capable lawsuit dismissed

Windows Vista Capable
US based software giant Microsoft has filed a motion to get the case related to the Vista Capable fiasco dismissed.
The company has asked the court to decertify the class action. This would mean that the affected customers would have to sue Microsoft individually.
Microsoft stated in their motion: “Windows Vista Home Basic has nearly all of the same computer code as the rest of the Windows Vista family, and … Microsoft never publicly defined Windows Vista in a way that would exclude Windows Vista Home Basic.”
It added: “The evidence refutes Plaintiffs’ claims that Windows Vista Home Basic cannot ‘fairly’ be called Windows Vista.”
The lawsuit is related to how the Vista OS launch was delayed and the company let the PC manufacturers sell their machines with Vista Capable stickers.
Customers who bought low-end machines with these stickers later found out that their machines could only run the Vista Home Basic edition which lacked several of the innovative features in the higher editions.
