Enrique Salem to become new CEO of Symantec

Symantec has announced that Enrique Salem would replace John Thompson as the new CEO of the company next year.

John Thompson is retiring after working as the CEO for 10 years.

Symantec is the leading security applications supplier in the market.

Salem would take over his new role in the company on April 4, 2009.

He would also become the new member of the company board.

Thompson spoke about Salem: “Enrique emerged as the right person to lead the company and I am confident in his ability to continue to drive the success of our team”.

Salem is currently the COO of Symantec. He would continue to work at this position till December.
