WinZip 12 features improved compression for JPG files
JPG files are already compressed so they do not get smaller in size when you compress them using file compression applications.
The developers behind WinZip are promising that the latest version comes with improved capabilities to compress JPG files without compromising on the file quality.
The company says:
Now you can fit more JPEG photos on your hard drive or removable media than ever before — without affecting image quality. What’s more, WinZip’s lossless JPEG compression means that it’s quicker and easier to share print-quality digital photos with family and friends!
The widely used JPEG format is the standard for saving and sharing digital images, but before now, it was difficult to compress JPEG files without compromising quality. (And high-quality JPEGs can take FOREVER to send via email.) Now, with the all new WinZip 12, you can compress JPEG files 20% to 25% without compromising photo quality, photo dimensions or file integrity.
