Windows 7 could be out before holiday season next year

Microsoft is dropping hints that they could launch the Vista OS successor Windows 7 sometime late next year.

Market sources say that the company is working on a schedule to launch the Windows 7 OS before the holiday season in 2009.

The company officially is not stating any release date. It’s clear that they do not want to repeat the PR disaster that happened with several delays in the launch of Windows Vista.

Microsoft is likely to deliver the first beta of Windows 7 early next year. Sources say that the company has plans to release just one release candidate version this time around.

Windows 7 is not as big of an upgrade as Vista was over XP. The company plans to retain a lot of backend model of Vista to maintain compatibility with hardware and software products available in the market.
