Microsoft stops issuing licenses for Windows 3.x
This might not affect a lot of people but Microsoft has now officially stopped issuing new licenses for their Windows 3.x operating system.
They stopped doing that at the beginning of the current month.
Windows 3 was the first operating system from the company which featured a graphical user interface.
It was released in the early 1990s. A lot has changed since then.
Microsoft has incidentally maintained support for Windows 3.x until the end of 2001.
It was being offered as an embedded operating system. Even that has been halted now. Windows XP remains the most used Windows OS in the world.
