Firefox 2 to be retired by the end of the year
If you are still using Firefox 2, it is the time to move on. Firefox 3 has been available for sometime now and it is better than ever.
Mozilla has revealed that they are aiming to retire the Firefox 2.x release by the end of the current year.
The developers have plans to issue just two more security updates for Firefox 2 in the coming months.
A Mozilla representative said that they expect the last release of Firefox 2 to be Firefox 2.0.0.19.
Firefox 2.0.0.17 is currently the latest version available in Firefox 2 series.
Mozilla added that majority of the users upgraded their installations to the Firefox 3 release when they released the auto-update earlier this year.
