Google Gmail would let users send SMS messages
Google is set to add a new feature in their Gmail service that would enable users to send SMS through it.
This new service is likely to work in the US market initially.
They would be able to send messages to their friends using the Chat feature of Gmail.
If the contact replies to the text message sent through the web interface, the reply would appear as a reply in the chat!
These SMS messages would also be stored in the Gmail Chat history.
Of course, this service would be free for the user of Gmail but the other person would be required to pay the relevant text charges.
