Microsoft aims to fix things with Windows 7
Windows Vista might be selling in decent numbers but it is not the kind of hit Microsoft would have expected.
After several years of development and delays, Microsoft launched it but found lukewarm response.
The company is now looking at the future and future is all about Windows 7.
Microsoft has major plans for this version which is expected to be released in the coming years.
The company has hinted that they are aiming to deliver an operating system that can run on a variety of devices.
This includes low performances devices like Netbooks. Netbooks today are generally sold with either Windows XP or Linux. Windows Vista is considered too demanding to run on these machines.
The company also announced the next version of Windows Embedded Standard which would be based on Windows 7.
Microsoft promises that Windows 7 would be leaner and faster than Vista.
