Microsoft Office 14 would be usable inside a web browser
Microsoft has confirmed that the next version of Office Suite would be usable within a web browser.
We believe that the facility is likely to be limited to Internet Explorer.
The company said that this new feature addition would enable the users to view and edit documents and spreadsheets inside the web browser.
Microsoft is perhaps doing this to provide an alternative to Google Docs which provides a similar functionality to its users but in a very limited form.
A lot of potential MS Office users are finding the online apps like Google Docs good enough for day to day usage.
Chris Capossela, a senior vice president at Microsoft’s Office business spoke about the new developments: “Nobody, none of our competitors, will do as good of a job on the phone, the browser or the PC.”
Microsoft for now only allows the users to view documents made using MS Office online in a web browser.
