Microsoft gets into the cloud with Windows Azure

US based software giant Microsoft has announced their entry into the cloud computing market with an early version of an OS that is designed to run on the web. They call it Windows Azure.

The company calls it the Windows in the Cloud.

They have released limited number of this OS to developers to play with. The company has not announced a confirmed release date for this edition of Windows.

Ray Ozzie, chief software architect at Microsoft said that Windows Azure was aimed at “an entirely new tier of computing: the web tier”.
