RescueTime: Keep a check on wasted time online!

RescueTime is one of the few services that we found very useful in our day to day work.

It enables a user to keep a check on how much time is spent on different tasks performed on the computer.

It works through a small application that the user is required to run on his computer all the time.

The application sends the data to the service which shows the data in a user friendly way online.

User can see the time spent on various applications. On the web, he can monitor the time spent on different web sites.

User can also tag the applications to collect several applications under a single heading. This gives a clearer view on where the time is spent on the computer.

It works great in the free version which is for a single user account. Paid accounts can be used to monitor usage of a group of people.

Overall, it’s a great service to see how much time we waste on the computer and how we can control it!
