Mozilla Firefox 3.1 beta 1 now available for download

Mozilla has now made available the Firefox 3.1 beta 1 for download.

As usual, the beta edition is codenamed Shiretoko.

This is the first test release that is being made available for wide distribution of the upcoming Firefox 3.1 release.

This test release is powered by the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform which features several performance improvements in addition to better support for web standards.

They have also improved the Awesome Bar feature of the browser as per the suggestions made by Firefox 3 users.

Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 also supports the W3C Geolocation API which was first introduced by Mozilla Geode add-on.
