OpenOffice.org 3.0 is the first Mac Native version

OpenOffice.org 3.0 is now out and available for download.

One of the most important news for the Apple Mac users is that this version is a Mac native application.

This means that the Apple Mac users would not be required to install X11 which is a Unix windowing environment.

However, this also means that the new version is only going to work on Intel processor powered Macs.

The latest edition of the open source office productivity suite comes with support for the MS Office 2007 file formats.
