Mozilla brings SpreadFirefox website back online
The marketing and the community website of the open source software Mozilla Firefox, SpreadFirefox.com is finally back online. This website has been a sort of security hazard for the Mozilla Foundation considering it has seen 2 hacking incidents since the launch of the browser last year and the second incident resulted in the organization taking the site down for major re-development.
It has taken them two weeks to get this website back online and they claim that it is now safe and secure to any potential security hacks. Both the hacking incidents had limited chances that user information might have been compromised. The servers have been secure but the hackers used the security glitches in the software applications being used for running the website.
Mozilla’s Asa Dotzler wrote on his Blog about this: “We’ve focused [sic] on getting the site back up and running as quickly as we can, and we have invested time and money to create a brand new server infrastructure and we have re-built Spread Firefox from scratch upon a pure Drupal code base.â€
They have also made it easier for the user to work on the website and plan to integrate more functionalities too.
