Joost to offer web based video service
Joost is already pretty popular as it enables the user to watch television programming on a personal computer using the Internet service.
However, it was only available as a software based solution as the user required the installation of Joost application.
The service is now launching their web based video service similar to how Hulu and YouTube works.
Joost Chief Executive Mike Volpi added that they are also now enhancing the social networking features of the service.
He said: “In order to really enhance the viewing experience and differentiate the Internet from TV, you can’t just regurgitate TV. You have to engage the community. Ultimately, the Internet is about community-building.”
