Livejournal said to be blocked in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan web users are reporting that they can no longer access the popular blogging service Livejournal.
The ISPs in the country have responded by claiming that they have no applied any kind of block on this web based service.
Livejournal too has confirmed that they are not locking out any users from Kazakhstan.
Operators of Livejournal SUP said in a statement: “The facts show there are no technical problems on our side. There has been no reaction yet from Kazakhtelecom or the Kazakh government.”
Kazakhtelecom stated: “We will look into it, but we are not doing anything like that on purpose.”
analysts believe that the block could in fact be in place on Livejournal and this could be due to a blog maintained on the service by Rakhat Aliyev associates.
