Microsoft to release Service Pack 3 for Windows XP in 2006
World’s largest software company and the developers of the Windows Operating System Microsoft have revealed their plans about a possible Service Pack 3 for their most popular offering in the market Windows XP. The company has said that it would most likely releasing a third service pack for this operating system sometime next year.
However, it would only come after the launch of their much-awaited next version of the Windows OS that is Windows Vista. Microsoft considers launching Vista their chief priority and would be working on this SP3 after releasing Vista OS. Bernard Ourghanlian, technical and security director at Microsoft France, confirmed the news and said: “There will be a Service Pack 3 for Windows XP.â€
The company released the second service pack for Windows XP last year in the month of September, which made some deep changes in the Operating System to make it more secure. The company has not revealed what would be their focus point for the next update but Laurent Delaporte of Microsoft France did said: “Historically, certain functions of new versions of Windows are integrated in the service packs of previous versions.”

I think it’s more likely that following the release of Vista, they’ll have to delay XP SP3 because they’ll be so busy writing Vista SP1.
win is it comeing out
pc
good
I thing the delay reason of Xp SP3 is not due to Vista SP1 . In my opinion its late due to some technical reasons.
sp3 mst hv some device drivers like vista has…
and…..eehhhhk……
sp3 mst b lik vista… and it may take more memory spaces and cpu usage..!!!
yeah i agree with Pete..but the benefits and all the features in Vista SP1 are also building in SP3..so they are kind of working on both projects..Vista SP1 is just priority 1.
