Athens, Ohio – Most cooking software stops at organizing recipes. Acacia Tree Software’s just released SousChef helps you cook, start to finish. Find a recipe, cook it, modify it and share it with friends & family – all in one application.
Unlike other cooking software, SousChef accesses an online cloud database made up of all other users’ recipes allowing users to quickly find new and delicious recipes. No more trips to the store to get that one missing ingredient either – SousChef ranks recipe results based on what’s in your pantry, or offers suggestions for substitutes.
Whether you’re throwing dinner together at the last minute, or want to experiment with a favorite family recipe, SousChef handles the details so you can simply cook.
SousChef will even accompany you to the kitchen! Place your computer somewhere safe and still read your recipes from across the room, using SousChef’s ten-foot mode. The ten-foot mode features a high-contrast, full screen display of the information you need to know. While in ten-foot mode, SousChef can also read your recipes to you and may be controlled via voice recognition or an Apple Remote.
SousChef also introduces a sleek import tool that makes importing recipes you find elsewhere online a breeze. Users just copy the text of the recipe and then drag a box over each area of the recipe that SousChef hasn’t automatically identified, selecting the correct labels as you go. Many recipes can be imported in ten clicks or less!
SousChef concentrates on helping you be the Chef that turns out amazing meals instead just organizing your recipes like a typical piece of cooking software. Substitutions can be made on the fly, quantities of ingredients can be changed at your whim or the number of servings modified with a single click. Every part of SousChef has been designed to make your computer help you cook.
Acacia Tree Software has partnered with Golden%Braeburn to integrate their in-application storefront, first introduced in Delicious Library. The storefront allows users to directly purchase SousChef, avoiding a web store, registration emails and manual registration entry in order to let users start using the application immediately.
Try SousChef today and get cooking! SousChef is available to download and is being introduced at just $30 (USD). Customers who are currently using other cooking software can upgrade to SousChef for only $20 (USD). Users can purchase SousChef directly from within the application, once downloaded.
SousChef runs on any computer with Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger or higher, and is distributed as a universal binary for maximum compatibility. iChat video sharing features require Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. An internet connection is recommended to experience all of SousChef’s features.
