I work at PacketVideo, and I'd like to post a correction.

CORE was released 10 years ago, and is not an application. PacketVideo (PV) is a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance. We open-sourced a portion of CORE, called OpenCORE, to the Android SDK. It is the entire multimedia subsystem of Android. You can learn more at PV's website.

Thanks!
