F-Secure launches F-Secure Internet Security 2006
With Spyware and phishing becoming the next big problem for the computers of today other than viruses and worms, more and more security application developers are releasing security suites rather than independent applications for viruses and spywares. ZoneAlarm has their own security suite and so does Norton. The latest to join the bandwagon is F-Secure.
Security application developer F-Secure has launched their latest application in the form of F-Secure Internet Security 2006. It is a consumer-oriented application aimed at providing complete security package to a computer connected to the internet. The company also updated their regular F-Secure Antivirus 2006.
Both the applications now provide integrated real-time features, which the company said are the first of their kind in the market capable to detect spyware before it is installed. They use the F-Secure’s BackLight technology and detect malware that remains hidden in computers and goes undetected by current security products. The company also provides daily updates to keep the user updated with the latest signatures and definition files.
The security package Internet Security 2006 also has an additional feature, which uses an antispam feature that employs a database of verified spam IP addresses to prevent common phishing techniques. The latest editions also feature a child-lock feature to enable parents to block questionable Web sites and set time limits on how long children can be on the Internet.
