Windows 7 to be displayed next month

Microsoft might not be able to attract many customers to their Vista operating system but they are not giving up.

The company is working on their next edition of the Windows operating system.

Microsoft would be showcasing a pre-beta edition of Windows 7 codenamed operating system at its Professional Developers Conference on Oct. 28.

The conference would also include 22 sessions on Windows 7 and its related technologies.

Microsoft’s Denise Begley wrote in a blog post on the new developments: “Windows 7 is the next major version of the Windows client operating system. With Windows 7 at PDC2008 you will see advances across the full range of Windows—including the kernel, networking, hardware and devices, and user-interface. Learn more about opportunities to build on the platform’s commitment to OS fundamentals, while also enabling you to enhance your existing applications and create new applications that use the new technologies and APIs in Windows 7.”
