Google Moderator web service launched
A Google Engineer has used his 20% time at the office to develop this new web service named Google Moderator.
It is powered by the company’s Google App Engine and is available for free usage.
The development of this tool was started for use internally in the company. It is designed to let people submit and discuss questions and then vote on the ones they had like answered in a meeting.
Google engineer Taliver Heath spoke about Moderator: “There was never enough time for all the questions, and it wasn’t clear that the best questions were the ones actually getting asked. And since many of these talks were led by offices outside of Mountain View, it became harder for distributed audiences to participate.”
