GNOME 2.24 Released
The developers behind the popular GNOME open source project have now released GNOME 2.24.
New features in GNOME 2.24 Release:
Empathy Instant Messenger – It now comes with a new instant messenger application which is based on the Telepathy communications framework. This messenger supports XMPP/SIP audio and video conferencing. Users can use it to connect to Jabber/XMPP, Google Talk, MSN Messenger and Apple’s Bonjour/Rendezvous local network chat.
Improved Time Tracking: GNOME now comes with a new panel which makes it easier for the user to keep a track of his time.
Ekiga 3.0: This updated application is a fully-featured SIP audio/video conferencing client.
Improved File Management: Tabs inside the file browser! Compact view. Improved automatic filename completion. Smart filename conversion on data transfer to other file formats.
