GMail introduces more but I am confused

I logged into GMail today to find a bright red link at the top. I no longer see the invite links so this kind of cheered me! I thought of some real cool stuff to check out and clicked on the link. The three new additions were:

  1. Import Contacts: This is kind of cool. Now GMail imports CSV files generated by loads of popular emailing clients and webmail services. Most of the custom fields are all put together in the Notes tab. Not the greatest feature but well another step in killing the other webmail services!
  2. Signature options: I have been using this since quiet sometime and I did not find anything new in this. Perhaps, GMail guys wanted to inform users who do not exactly explore the options unless specifically pointed towards something important. Though I do think it can do with an option that let me prevent signature being added to mails which are replies and forwards. Coz my signature is kinda long and boring and can get irritating if the conversation get a bit long.
  3. Safari browser support: This too was introduced sometime back. What’s new in it?
