Microsoft to refresh Internet Explorer 7 beta 1 release
World’s largest software company and the maker of the Windows Operating System Microsoft has revealed that the users will see a refreshed up Internet Explorer 7 beta 1 release before they go on to release the public beta of Beta 2 of Internet Explorer 7 in the next couple of months. The first beta was released to a private group of testers sometime ago and met with huge disappointment considering it was mostly a UI update rather than a technical one.
Microsoft representatives were speaking to a group of developers in an online chat when they revealed their plans. Jason Watters, a program manager on the IE team said during the chat: “We are working on a plan to release a refresh of the stand-alone IE 7 beta 1 build sometime before the beta 2 release. The plan is to include a refresh for IE 7 for Windows XP SP2 as well as a build of IE 7 for Windows Server 2003 SP1.”
However, none of the Microsoft people on the chat revealed any dates for these upcoming much awaited releases, which the online users are so much waiting to get their hands on. The second beta is only confirmed to come out sometime next year. However, it was indeed confirmed that Internet Explorer 7 is not likely to get its own internal download manager, which already exist, on competing browsers like Opera and Mozilla Firefox.
They also said that Internet Explorer 7 would not make it to the expected release of the Service Pack 3 of Windows XP. Anurag Jain, another IE program manager confirmed: “Our current plan is to continue to ship IE 6 on XP SP3, but IE 7 will be supported on XPSP3.†They also assured the users that the final of the Internet Explorer 7 is really worth waiting for and users would find a much better browser, which is more capable of handling the pressures of Mozilla Firefox and Opera Browser. One of the best features the company is working on is the ‘Protected Mode’, which is expected to make Internet Explorer much more secure than the current beast.

On the one hand, we need to understand that when they tinker with I.E., they are tinkering with the O.S., for launching I.E. on one’s PC is nothing but the pulling together of specific data files, albeit a huge number of them, which are part of the O.S., for the time that the browser is open.
On the other hand, why should anyone care. The jackels that are nipping at I.E., namely Firefox 1.0.x, Mozilla 1.7.x, Seamonkey 1.0a, Netscape 8.0.3.3, and the newly free Opera are all pretty good, in many ways better than I.E., and frankly, better now than I.E. 7 will be when it comes out.
My personal choice is Netscape 8 but, hey, do your own deal.
