Apple upgrades accounts of .Mac service

With most of the web mail services and other internet related services getting ultra competitive, Apple has decided to upgrade their .Mac offering for their fan base. The company introduced a couple of upgrades on the .Mac accounts yesterday, which included increased storage space for the users. In addition, they also added a new functionality called Groups.

Both these features are accessible to the account holders with immediate effect and the company has provided the settings of the increased storage space in the account settings in the backend of the web based service. Users can freely allocate the available web space between their mail accounts and iDisk.

The company has also increased the web storage space for the family accounts to 2 GB now. The groups feature is new addition to the backend and allows .Mac users to setup a group Web site and invite members to join. This would enable the .Mac users to setup common interest group websites to share information with each other.
